The theme partner for the Faraday Challenge 2021 is Network Rail. Based on a real world problem, the Faraday Challenge links together STEM subjects in an engaging way and encourages the development of young people’s problem solving and communication skills.

Mayfield's Year 8 students were tasked to assist the work of Network Rail in helping them to sustainably mange the increasing numbers of passengers using their network and minimise their impact on the environment.
