Our Ethos

Mayfield School's Business department is dedicated to preparing students for the competitive world of employment, introducing them to the concepts of Business and Enterprise, as well as developing a range of life skills including, problem solving, team working, critical thinking, independent learning and communication skills, whilst instilling confidence in our students to enable them stand out in a competitive work environment.

We equip students with crucial skills to be effective communicators, to listen and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition they are able to identify and understand the importance of entrepreneurial skills which are innate within each student e.g. decision making, budgeting, clear understanding of costing and pricing and so on.

Our GCSE Business, BTEC Enterprise, A Level Business and BTEC National Level 3 courses provide students with both theoretical knowledge, real life case studies and practical experience, helping our students become independent, passionate, curious and open-minded individuals. Our purpose is to ensure that our students leave Mayfield ready for the world of work or their next stage in life.
