21st JanRedbridge Badminton ChampionshipsOn Monday 20th January 2025, Mayfield took four boys to compete in the Redbridge Badminton Championships. Aydin R. (Year 7), Zahid R. (Year 9), Muhammad Ayan A. (Year 7) and Dragos A. (Year 8) competed with some of the borough's best Badminton players. Our first success of the evening came when brothers Aydin and Zahid came out victorious in their first doubles game of the afternoon, winning 11-7. Despite playing against year 9s, our year 7 and 8 students played well beyond their years and represented Mayfield in an extremely positive way.
12th DecSportshall Athletics EventOn Wednesday 11th December 2024, Mayfield School hosted the Redbridge schools' Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics event. There were 16 visiting primary schools, with 21 Mayfield students from year 8-10 volunteering as Sports Leaders. Well done to all the primary schools that took part, as well as Ms Scully, Ms McGowan and Ms Marsh for organising. Well done to Mayfield's fantastic sports leaders for the delivery of the event. They all demonstrated great courage of leading a range of track and field events and contribution to the community, allowing schools to come together and compete.
