Year 10 Netball Runners-up

The Year 10 Netball team showed incredible determination and resilience in the Borough Netball Competition on Tuesday 25th February. They secured a well-deserved 2nd place finish, placing them as the second- best Netball team in Redbridge. Although they faced strong competition from the start, the team showed significant improvement and fought hard to stay in the game, especially in the 3rd and 4th quarters, where they really found their rhythm. The Coach’s Player of the Match award went to Absa T. Her consistent hard work throughout the game, particularly in attack, made a real difference. The Player of the Match title went to Kaitlyn R. who was instrumental in securing the team’s second-place finish. She was a standout performer in the final two quarters, with her attacking skills playing a crucial role in the team’s comeback.

Mayfield 7-a-side Tournament Success

On Thursday 30th January 2025, Mr Wheeler and the Year 8 boys football team had a fantastic evening, finishing as runners-up in the tournament. The boys eased through their group finishing second after beating Chadwell 2-0 with a brace from Denikel and then beating Forest 2-0 in their second game. Already being through, we lost our last group game to Ilford County but had already cemented our spot in the Semi-Final. In a closely contested semi-final against Valentines, we took an early lead through William U., as his strike found the back of the net. Valentines then equalised, but that didn't stop substitute Basil coming off of the bench to place a well timed shot into the bottom corner putting us into the final.  In the final, we played against the team that had already beaten us, Ilford County. The teams could not be separated in normal time thanks to some superb goalkeeping from Abdulbathin in the Mayfield goal. As time ended, only penalties could separate the two teams! Mayfield narrowly lost 3-2 and finished runners up. Mr Wheeler is extremely proud of how far the boys have come and next time they will hopefully go one better!   Year 8 Squad - Abdulbathin, Tyson, Saif, Ahmed S., Basil, Zevi, Denikel, William R., William U.
