15th JanRedbridge Sportshall Athletics - Year 8On Tuesday 14th January 2020 Mayfield School hosted another Sportshall Athletics event, in which a number of Year 8 students from all across Redbridge took part. There were two main categories for this sporting event; Track and Field. As well as competing, Mayfield School's Sports Leaders took part in umpiring and helping to set up the equipment. Results Year 8 Boys The Palmers Academy (270 points) Kantor King Solomon (266 points) Oaks Park (254 points) Mayfield finished in 6th position with 208 points Year 8 Girls Kantor King Solomon(296 points) Woodford County High (292 points) Beal High (272 points) Mayfield finished in 8th position with 172 points
10th JanYear 11 Netball SuccessOn Wednesday 8th January 2020 the Year 11 Netball team played their first Under 16 London League game against Bishop Challoner. The game got off to a great start with Mayfield dominating play with a 7 goal lead. The defence worked extremely hard throughout the game and shut down Bishop Challoner whenever they had the chance to get the ball and attack. Some great interceptions were made by Player of the match Subomi and Coach’s Player Melissa. Mayfeld won the game with a score of 16-0. This is a great achievement and I hope the girls continue to work hard and play well in their other upcoming games.
