21st OctSpoken Word Artist, BHMAs part of Mayfield School's celebration of Black History Month (BHM) we invited our Alumni, Russeni Fisher, who is an intelligent and talented Spoken Word artist to lead a session with Year 7 students. A hugely successful session of spoken word, creativity and drama exercises, where young Year 7 students were given the guidance and opportunity to learn more about Black history and how we celebrate British Black History.
18th OctRegional Gymnastics CompetitionOn Sunday 16th October 2022 our very own Year 7 Student competed in a regional Gymnastics competition. Jaida-Marie was awarded Gold for beam and placed second overall out of all the age categories, which went up to 16+. Jaida-Marie has made the team for national finals in December of this year, and we wish her the best of luck.
18th OctWear it PinkOn Friday 21st October 2022 we will be raising money for Wear it pink, in honour of Joanne Arnold. We want to see as many of you wearing pink as possible, all we ask is that you donate £1 each for wearing something pink. We will be holding a coffee morning in café best instead of our normal faculty meetings. Please feel free to hold your faculty meetings but in Café best. It would be lovely to see the hall filled with pink members of staff. Students are also allowed to wear one item of pink and will be asked to donate £1 each. Steph and I (Nat) will also be holding a KS3 movie night on Friday. Please see the poster below! 17th OctEnowateOn Friday 14th October 2022, 30 students from year 7 - 13 had the privilege of being invited to the Saddler's Wells theatre in London to see Mayfield Alumni, Dickson Mbi, perform his own show titled Enowate, which means "truth stands". Read more here: Enowate at Saddler's Wells
